On November 18, Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg-Tchaikovskogo and the St. Petersburg International Festival of Festivals Film Festival invited their partners and friends to a private film screening, as part of the Hotel Indigo Cinema Club.
This time round, we treated the evening’s participants to Alex van Warmerdam’s absurdist thriller Schneider vs Bax. The film had enjoyed its international premiere at the International Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland and during the International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, earlier in 2015.
On his birthday, the main character, hitman called Schneider reluctantly takes on the easy task of killing a writer, Bax, only to find the job a lot more difficult than expected. Bax lives in a remote small house surrounded by marshland, and he is getting an endless chain of visitors. And, he knows very well that someone is after him…
The film stars: Tom Dewispelaere, Alex van Warmerdam, Maria Kraakman. The evening was attended by a special guest, the aspiring St. Petersburg actress Yekaterina Reshetnikova of the Maly Drama Theater – Theater of Europe. Yekaterina told the guests about her new role, Emma Bovary, in Natalya Indeikina’s premiere production at the Baltiisky Dom Theater. We also held a raffle draw, where the prizes included tickets to the staging.
The film screening was hosted by Tatyana Troyanskaya, a popular St. Petersburg radio presenter with the St. Petersburg Echo Radio Station.
