
On November 17, the Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg-Tchaikovskogo and the St. Petersburg International Festival of Festivals film festival invited their partners and friends to a private film screening.
The audience was presented with a breathtaking suspense “Unknown» (La fille inconnue / The Unknown Girl) – a new picture of the Belgian directing duo’s Dardenne brothers, winners of Golden Palm International Cannes Film Festival. The world premiere of the film took place in May 2016 at the International Cannes Film Festival as a part of the main program. In Russia, the film was shown in the summer of 2016 at the Moscow International Film Festival (the program “European euphoria: Between Heaven and Hell”). During the year, the picture is also shown at international film festival in New York, London and Toronto.
The main heroine of the picture, a young surgeon Jenny is an independent investigation into the murder. One evening, Jenny decided not to open the door of her office to a strange late visitor. The next day she was informed by the police that there was a girl’s body found, unidentified, not far from the ofice. Moved by remorse, Jenny attempts to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The main role is performed by the French actress Adèle Haenel, two-time winner of the prestigious film award “César”.
The film also stars such actors as: Olivier Bonneau, Jérémie Renier. The special guests of the evening were the curators of the exhibition “Another Gurchenko,” opened to the public on November 17 in the House Museum Chaliapin (street Graftio -. 2B).
The cinema evening was held by a popular Petersburg`s radio host Tatiana Troyanskaya.
