On April 23, 2015, Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg-Tchaikovskogo celebrated its first anniversary. Since the hotel welcomed its first guests on April 7, 2014, the city of St. Petersburg received not only a new luxury hotel but also an exciting arts venue with a thriving cultural scene.
Over just one year, the Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg-Tchaikovskogo has established itself as a respected and hospitable arts venue, having formed partnerships with the State Hermitage Museum, the Baltic House Theater Festival, the International Diaghilev Festival, the Italian film festival N.I.C.E. and the International Festival of Festivals Film Festival.
The hotel has created its own cinema club – a joint project with the International Festival of Festivals Film Festival – that features monthly screenings of new European and American films.
In April 2015, the Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg-Tchaikovskogo has launched a new cultural initiative. It now serves as the St. Petersburg branch of the prestigious Moscow Lecture Center “Direct Speech” (Pryamaya Rech) and is holding lectures of some of Russia’s finest historians, psychologists, scientists and musicologists on weekly basis.
On April 23, 2015 the festivities opened with a thrilling performance of aerial gymnasts and ballet artists, followed by an exciting visual spectacular, a 3D light show, inspired by the works of Russian avant garde artists. The celebration party also featured a live performance of the popular rock band Gorod 312.
Victoria Shamlikashvili, the investor of the Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg-Tchaikovskogo, said: “We are very happy to see that the hotel transmits the atmosphere and the spirit of St. Petersburg. We are very proud of the fact that, by developing this hotel, we contribute to carving up the reputation of St. Petersburg as Russia’s cultural capital. Perhaps, the most important task facing our staff, regardless of what kind of job they do at the hotel, is to connect our visitors to the city of St. Petersburg, its amazing history and its vast cultural treasures, to make them feel the city’s beating heart. Our first anniversary is a celebration of history, culture and beautiful new initiatives”.
